New I-9 Form Goes Into Effect April 3, 2009
On April 3, 2009, all employers must use the new Form I-9 to verify the employment authorization of all new hires. The revised form is available here.
New I-9 Handbook for Employers
USCIS has also issued a new I-9 Handbook for Employers. The handbook is available here.
Federal Contractors Required to Use E-Verify System
Federal contractors and sub-contractors will be required to begin using the USCIS E-Verify system starting January 15, 2009. For more information on the new E-verify requirements, click here.
